Five Health’s Impact: Building a Healthier Miami, One Community at a Time

When Five Health launched, we set out to answer a straightforward question: what happens when you meet people where they are, instead of waiting for them to find you?

The answer, it turns out, is that people show up. They engage. They bring their families and neighbors.

Our Approach

Five Health operates at the intersection of public health education, direct services, and community empowerment. We don’t pick one lane. We address economic stability, health access, education, community engagement, and neighborhood conditions simultaneously because those issues don’t exist in isolation either.

Our programs range from home-based STI testing to financial wellness workshops to community health fairs. Each one is designed to reduce a specific barrier that keeps people from living healthier lives.

What Sets Us Apart

Dr. Amanda Ichite, our Executive Director, spent over a decade in community health operations before founding Five Health. That operational experience shapes everything we do. We don’t build programs in conference rooms and hope they work in neighborhoods. We build them in neighborhoods and refine them based on what we see.

Our CAP (Community Awareness and Prevention) Initiative is a good example. It combines mobile outreach, digital education, and peer-led workshops into a single coordinated effort. The design came directly from listening to community members describe the gaps in their existing options.

Looking Ahead

We’re expanding our Community Connect platform, scaling the Home Access Program, and developing new partnerships with local healthcare systems. If your organization is working on health equity in South Florida, we’d welcome a conversation.
